Santamaria's Night Walk, Monteverde
A guided night walk through the forest in Monteverde. Wear closed toe shoes, socks and lots of bug spray. Night tours are hit and miss, and it's a waiting game while the guides scan the trees.
We saw two snakes including a viper, a toucan asleep in a tree, a rhinoceros beetle, a big slug and a scorpion. Not action packed, but walking the forest at night felt like an adventure on its own.
